New Years Resolutions.
Well we are well and truly getting into 2017, so how are your New Years Resolutions going? Doesn't matter what it is you have resolved to do, by now you will either be right into it...... or it may have fallen off along the road. To make your resolutions work out, you need to set a goal with steps to achieving what it is you have set out to do. For example, if you have decided to get fitter, you are not going to just go out and run 10km's on your first day, you are going to build up to it.
Lets say you have decided that this is the year that you want to organise your house!! You can't expect to knock it over in one session, you will just end up disheartened and want to quit. No; you must approach this with a plan and a goal in mind. Perhaps you don't have a lot of time so you decided to organise a certain area per month. This is a great idea if you are short on time and don't mind if the project takes a long time to achieve. You might have a little more time and decide to approach it with achieving one area/room per week. What ever it is you do you really need to make a plan and set a goal with specific time frames. Believe me this does work.
Once you have your plan, just jump in and start. Something that seems daunting can be broken down into digestable pieces and achieved quite easily. Lets say you have decided you want to make a start but don't have much time available. - what about just choosing something that may need doing and hasn't been done for awhile. You could clean the cupboard in the bathroom or under the sink, or a kitchen drawer. Be ready to throw away anything you find that may be of no use now, damaged, out of date or just too old. Be honest with yourself if you are inclined to keep stuff. You will see once you have tidied up this small area and cleared it out you will feel so GOOD!!!
Having stuff in your house that is no longer needed, or usable, or is just junk can be draining your energy and you don't even know it. If you are a bit skeptical, trust me just try a small area and see how you feel. Once you have done this small area there will be no stopping you, but remember to make your plan and set your goal. You can even reward yourself as you small goals are reached, in fact you should!!!
